PROFILE OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Smiths City Group Limited consists of Four non executive and one executive Director.
CRAIG BOYCE B Com, ACA, FNZIM, F Inst D
Chairman and Non Executive Director
Mr Boyce joined the Company in 1988 and served as Chief Executive from 1990 to 1999. He joined the Board in July 1998 and became Chairman of the Board in May 1999 having relinquished the position of Chief Executive. From May 1999 to October 2003 Mr Boyce retained certain executive duties, principally in the area of Smithcorp Finance Limited which was recognised as a key area of growth for the Group. In October 2003 Mr Boyce withdrew from his executive duties and became Non Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Smiths City Group Limited.
Mr Boyce is an experienced professional Director and now holds directorships in many companies.
JOHN DOBSON B Com, F Inst D
Deputy Chairman and Independent Non Executive Director
Mr Dobson has extensive finance company experience and has been a Director of Smiths City Group Limited since August 1994. A professional director Mr Dobson has previously served on the Boards of publicly listed companies and holds various directorships throughout New Zealand.
JOHN HOLDSWORTH MA Econ (Hons)
Non Executive Director
Mr Holdsworth was elected to the Board in 1988 and has served continuously since that time. Mr Holdsworth was Chairman of the Board from October 1994 to May 1999. He has completed an Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. He is currently Chairman of Datacom Group Limited. Mr Holdsworth has been involved in directorships of publicly listed companies in the past and has extensive experience in a broad range of industries
RICHARD HELLINGS BSc(Econ), ACA
Executive Director
Mr Hellings joined the Board in November 1998. Mr Hellings has over 20 years experience in the retail sector and joined the Company as Group General Manager in August 1991 having served as Group Financial Controller for the Noel Leeming Group of companies. He was appointed Chief Executive of Smiths City Group Limited in May 1999, and currently holds the position of Managing Director.
SUE SHELDON B Com, FCA, M Inst D
Independent Non Executive Director
Ms Sheldon joined the Board as an Independent Director in May 2005. Ms Sheldon is a professional company director with a broad range of commercial appointments including listed companies Freightways Limited and CanWest MediaWorks Limited and companies owned by the Crown and local government. Ms Sheldon also has community involvements as a National Board Member for Guides New Zealand and is a former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand.
